But it has nothing to do with what I said. When you send your kids off to school, you are no longer in a position to protect them as a parent has a right to do. The state _requires_ you to send them, so the state assumes total responsibility for their safety and that of all the other kids.

Education would be nice to have, true. But you cannot educate the people who don't make it into your classrooms. And education never did stop bullies from forming. Monitoring at least gives the teachers a chance to stop behavior that is not only distracting to the education of the other students, but often can cause long-term damage.
