| I know you are worried about the environment, but how are you going to figure out a way to protect the environment in the dark without your computer working?
A few years back Bush said something to the effect that he wanted an energy bill that fixes the problem now instead of in 5 years (or maybe it was in 5 years and not 20, I don't remember exactly. Why doesn't google work as well after a beer? And it was Saturday that I had one...).
Bush has TRIED to get an energy bill. It didn't get through Congress. This is back in 2001 during CA's problems. He's loosening the Environmental concerns for now because The East Coast Power outage is like throwing Bin Laden a Birthday Party. Al Qaeda could very well be inspired by this because we have shown weakness here. There isn't time to fix the Grid for ALL environmental concerns when terrorists smell blood.
It's not like Liberals are always for clean energy. Check this.

I'm not trying to call anybody names, I'm just trying to get you to see that it's unfair to go against anything of W just because of environmental issues.
I want clean energy too. I know you guys have the best of intentions for helping the environment. However, if we don't fix the power grid and Al Qaeda succeeds in an energy attack, we'll have a lot less resources for environmental concerns. Bush's energy "plan" could be better, but you're not helping the situation by calling him names. Bush Bashing is only going to increase resentment and further polarize this issue. I don't think you guys would have been more persuaded by me if I just started calling you guys names or titled my post "Kill the Environment" or "Bow to my SUV" or "Environmentalist Wackos". |
