...I think, that the author assumes all consumers are honest. This is a blatant falsehood. People in general don't like paying for things that they think they can, or should be able to, get for free, even (or perhaps especially) if the price is minimal. It's one reason why I believe that net.culture hasn't matured enough to support micropayments adequately. Bigger ticket items seem to not have the same problem.
