My username looks funny in all lowercase.
I'm in this jazz improv class, and my professor assigned us to listen to some jazz. My mom happened to have this CD called "Ella and Louis Again", on which (obviously) Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong sing together. Ella's voice is pure honey, and Louis's is like the darkest, smoothest chocolate. I also checked out a 2-disc Glenn Miller collection out from the library. Wow. I'm becoming addicted to Big Band music. I also checked out a Jelly Roll Morton CD. ... Wow. He's amazing. I also got a Thelonius Monk CD... I have to admit that I just don't dig his style of bebop, it's a little too chaotic for me. Oh, and I found my Gershwin CD. Yay for jazz. ^^
It's fun to talk to people in Latin. For instance, when getting off the bus, you can say to the bus driver "Gratias ago. Vale" and you get a really amusing look. Ok, so I like messing with people's heads. What of it? *bnlseg*
The Hours is a really good book, and I'm only like 70 pages into it.
My Putnam Exam prep class is already amusing. I'm currently working on the following problem: Take a polynomial of degree n, with coefficients of +1/-1, whose roots are all real. What is the largest value of n that is possible? (I'm stuck, at the moment, but I haven't had much time to play with it.) I can't wait for next week. ^^
