something a xtian minister aquaintance told me by Celticess 2003-08-26 11:09:56
is he's against same sex marriages. I don't hold the same view but he's entitled to his. His view is that church has every right to influence state(which is what I debated with him more at the time)... he said man didn't create law church did and he argued that is what the bible says too so all good christians in his mind must see that the state follows gods law...

Intresting thing is he was a protestant minister and disagree's with his church superiors who approve same sex marriages. But there is in bc also a reble group of catholic preists who believe they have the right to marry and think catholic churches ban on clergy marrying is wrong as well... tho not seen that group speak up on the same sex issues.

But I find it disturbing that a large group would think god made all law not man so man is above mans law and only must answer to gods law by the interpretation of the minisisters handling the book(s).

Before xtianity existed other cultures of other faiths had law... some with perhaps no real religious law had societal law... So I find the view that the christian gods law is the only law of the world and no other need be obeyed weird.
