It sounded like a threat of sorts. What he said was perfectly valid, and it would be sad to see him in any way punished for stating his valid opinion.

For people who know of and respect this other Hussein, it is definitely insulting his memory to be confused with the more infamous Saddam.

To do so unintentionally (as I believe you did) is fine. But to do so intentionally (as you have expressed a desire to do in the future) is definitely being rude.
