For my birthday, I got a 64MB flash drive. I'd like to put my GnuPG and related tools on it, so I can send & read my email properly wherever I happen to be.
Question is, am I better off just duplicating everything, and synching the copy of my keyring between my hard drive and the flash drive; or moving entirely to the flash drive, and using that as my primary keyring/binary/everything?
I know flash has a limited lifetime (something like 10,000 or 100,000 write cycles, IIRC), but is GnuPG and a large public keyring likely to thrash it enough to cause problems? |
