...lilo didn't install properly. You will need to boot into Slackware from a boot floppy, edit the /etc/lilo.conf file then re-run lilo. Double check all of the settings in lilo.conf though since it seems as if something is not quite right. You must run lilo after making any changes to /etc/lilo.conf. I can't tell you how many people don't run lilo and wonder why the changes they made don't show up.
