They are horrible cars, period (I apologize in advance to any ford enthusiasts, but you are wrong, lol), I had the opportunity to drive a Mustang GT about a week ago, and I daresay I was less than impressed, besides the fact that the car was more likely to wrap itself around the pole next to the turn than actually pull through it, I don't think the seats would hold me in if I tried (far from buckets) to do it at speed.
You on the other hand, are driving a great car (at a great price too I might add), I also had the opportunity of driving a spec V when they first came out and I was quite impressed, not so much by the fabric on the seats (does yours have that mesh crap too?) but it is quite a nice car to drive, with a lot of pull right to the redline, and a limited slip differential that'll give you better handling than a mustangs rwd any day.
The point of all this simply being, don't be quite proud of yourself, you had an advantage to start with (besides him being an apparently bad driver) in a straight line he might beat you (if he could drive) but he has no chance in turns.
As far as handling goes, in my hands my old beater could probably out do a mustang through the slalom. |
