USMC, Here I Come! by Metalhead01 2006-11-19 12:55:59
This has probably been the longest week of my life.

I've talked with recruiters. I've talked with active duty Marines. I've talked with veterans. I've talked with family. I've talked with friends. I've thought and thought on this issue, and I've come to a decision.

Monday afternoon, after classes, I will be going back down to the Marine Corps recruiting office to begin my enlistment paperwork.

I'll have plenty of time to get in shape, since (based on what info I got last week) I won't be shipping out to Boot Camp until June at the earliest. This'll also give me some time to get some of the basic info (like the Marine Hymn and Marine ranks) learned and memorized.

Just to assure everyone, I haven't made this decision lightly. I won't be half-assing my way through anything for following months. Hell, I'll probably be spending more time preparing for Basic than I will be spending on school!

Thanks to everyone who responded in this clicky, regardless of what your message was. Your words did not fall upon deaf ears. (Or blind eyes, as the case may be) :)
