    Knoppix? by duesentrieb 2003-08-24 06:29:45
I guess I could boot from CD using Knoppix (Linux-on-a-disk). Is there a way to install an RPM into a *different* system than the one currently running? Could i just unpack it and install the files manually? in that case, what goes where?

P.S.: I will try that later. I have a project due tomorrow and booted the box into w2k for now (java is great,OS don't matter...). PLease let the good advice pile up!...

BTW: what could i try to force the login? I can't think of a way, as pretty much everything depends on glibc. I already tryed the "single" kernel option and the RedHat Bott Disk. No effect.

tnx again
