Question for the D&D rules lawyer by Surgo2003-08-23 00:17:53
  No. by Arcanum 2003-08-23 19:37:16

Just because you have an area of low-level badness following you around doesn't make you immune to a jolt of intense badness focused on hurting you.

Think of it like this: Humans (normal ones, anyway) continuously radiate heat as a result of their normal biological functioning. This is generally a good thing. Nevertheless, they still can be harmed by intense heat quite easily. The negative energy aura is just a side-effect of the "normal" supernatural functioning of the necromancer.
