        "Only" 35 seconds? by LionsPhil 2003-08-23 09:38:38
I'm sorry..."only"? 35 seconds? "Not bad"? That's nowhere NEAR an acceptable load time. Lotus Millenium can crunch into life on my Celeron 500 in about three seconds. Lotus doesn't leave crud in the background. Why should OO be *THAT* much slower?

My linuxbox probably isn't a great comparison. My XP Home system is cropped down; Linux isn't. Although I have butter all idea HOW to cut down the crud from Dead Rat 8. I've yet to see a Linux install come up as fast as my Windows XP Home system, though (it takes around twenty to thirty seconds to reach the login screen; login takes about two seconds).

What's going on with Mozilla's loading time is anyone's guess.
