The article clearly states this was a note INSIDE his bag, and that they were lead away peacefully and without any disruption. If he had been yelling, I would be more ambivalent about his actions, since it is well established that yelling "Fire" in a theater or the equivalent is not protected speach, but this was a written note, not disrupting the flow of buisness, just expressing his disgust with their actions, and only visible if they took this action.
Perhaps only implicitly to me, but he may also have been referring to the larger picture, which is that none of these highly questionable random searches has yet to deliver a real threat, just a few of these very questionable cases. Or can someone correct me on this, and provide a link to a real bomb being found during a random search?
Protests of this nature are exactly what these rights are intended for, in my understanding of our history. I'm not a deep student of history, but generally these rights were in part a reaction against oppressive or wrong governments. |
