Was the repeated talk of "Only until terrorists are defeated" Terrorists struck repeatedly against Rome and Roman interests in the height of the empire, A terrorist started World war 1. The terrorists will be defeated when humanity is extinct and not before. True you can continue to prevent them from carrying out attacks, but if you think that this is a short term thing you're an idiot. There have always been terrorists and there will always be terrorists. If you're willing to submit to random arrest, detention and body orifice searches without cause for the duration of the terrorist threat then you will have to submit to them for your entire life.
