They have the right to say what they want.
That doesn't automatically give them the right to TV broadcast time. What the TV stations broadcast is up to them as long as it's within the conditions of their license. Guess who writes the license terms.
The UK system works quite well. Partys can take as much space as they like in papers and as posters but TV and radio are limited. There are a fixed number of spots allocated that are split between the parties based on their currnet number of MP's and the number of candidates they have standing. No other broadcast by the parties (or no their behalf by private groups) is allowed.
It's not perfect but it does make things a bit more even.
