This is a question for those of you who already plan to vote democratic in the next election, and not necessarily for the people who feel that the Bush administration is the best answer we've got right now.
The question is this: Having ruled out that possibility, and being convinced of the necessity for a "Regime Change" here at home through our democratic electoral process, which (if any) of the candidates do you think best represents a step forward in this country as opposed to a step backward?
I've taken the liberty of encapsulating the candidates' views as I see them, in 1 sentence or less. Please feel free to add to this or correct me where I'm misinformed:
The rogues' gallery:
1. Kerry: "Of course I'll win. Why wouldn't people vote for me? I have no opinions of my own to confuse anybody with."
2. Gephardt: "Vote for me because Republicans have ruined the country."
3. Dean: "Here's what's wrong with our country, and here's what I'll do to fix it. It won't be an easy pill to swallow, and I won't make any promises just to get elected, but I believe this is the right thing to do even if it means making some sacrifices."
4. Kucinich: "Rant, rant, rant, hiss, vinegar, where are the weapons of mass destruction, rant, yell, hiss."
5. Lieberman: "I'm really not much different than Bush in my stance on most things, except that he's a Republican, and I'm a Democrat."
6. Sharpton: "War is an evil perpetrated by the white man on people of every other creed and nation, and if I'm elected, I'll demand reparation."
7. Braun: "There are so much better, more sensible ways to do everything than the way they're done now; if I'm elected, the first thing I'll do is change everything around. It'll be more efficient, everything will work right, and we'll all save money, but it will mean completely restructuring every aspect of everything whatsoever."
Have I left anything out? Are there any candidates not represented here? Any views, opinions?
