the social standards and attitudes of the past with our current standards and attitudes. The Founding Fathers showed remarkable foresight in allowing for change at all. The Constitution was a very new and radical idea for it's time. Certainly no monarch of the period would have allowed the people to change his/her laws as readily.

I believe that most of the changes in law don't take place in the Constitution anyway; they take place in the Courts the various Legislatures. However, it would help me to know if I am incorrect about that.
