And if it happens, I'm willing to fight THAT president. At least it would teach americans not to be so damn complacent about what they DO have.
If everyone votes the way I try to, ie for someone who is going to do things the way YOU want them done, odds are we won't GET too many bad politicians. Party politics will become a thing of the past, and politicians will be forced to work FOR the people and not against their opponents.
Yes, it means that my candidate won't always win, but that's ok. It would mean that the person *most* of the country wanted in got in, and that's what a democracy is about. It's not about *my* candidate winning, although I would prefer that. It means that the person most people want in gets in.
And before anyone jumps up about Bush, I *still* suppport the electoral college. I would like to see it changed though, so that the members vote the way of their districts (which would then mirror the popular vote) instead of voting the way of the majority as they currently do.
