When I was there Southampton University had a VERY highly regarded course in Ship Science.
And, of course, it's right next to the Solent - sailing mecca!
The X is owned by the same chap who used to have the 105 and most of the crew is the same, which is very cool as we know how to have fun, and yes I'm still doing fore-deck.
What are you up to on the J? I can offer front-of-boat tips if needed...! I'm sure you'll love it & if there's class racing with friendly courses you'll have a ball on the reaching legs. We had ours up to about 17-18 Kts...
Photos will happen, but I'm moving the website between ISPs at present & also am a bit wary about taking my camera sailing, so I'll have to scan some of the prints I get.
Actually I should scan some of the 100s of others too - It's a pretty cool archive after 6 years racing offshore! |
