"Bush is bad. Therefore Republicans are Bad. Therefore I must vote Democrat". You don't know what the platforms the other side is going to run on, and you're not even considering any other parties. You're voting for Bushs opponents on the basis of "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" and that is not always the case.
You need to examine *all* the candidates for a position, and the decide, based on their track record for doing what they've said, as well as what they're promising to do. That may mean you wind up voting for another Republican, but you'll be voting for the person whose ideals most closely mirror your own, and more importantly, you've made in informed decision, not picked or discounted anyone just because they're for/against someone you don't like.
