the issue is NOT only what the public was told. The issue is what Congress was told. Congress passed the Patriot Act and gave the Administration some war powers. (Read the Patriot Act) I don't at this point even CARE what the public was told. In my view the President purposely exagerated unreliable points of evidence told by the CIA to his administration to spin a dangerous picture that furthered his agenda. THAT is huge.
