This TLP comes from a sub-post on yesterday's comment board by request.

Does a person have the right to purposely disrupt the sleep of someone they live with for the purpose of forcing them to shift their sleep schedule? Is this kind of behavior rude? When is justified and when is it not?

In my opinion, as long as none of the following apply, then it is rude to purposely disrupt someone else's sleep.

1. You have an SO and/or children who do not share your sleep schedule and your job does not demand it.
2. You have responsibilities to someone that your sleep schedule interferes with. This is similar to #1. (ex. You care for your grandmother/grandfather/mother/father/etc.)
3. You keep your housemates up when their trying to sleep.
4. You are currently attending high school or a lower grade level and your sleep schedule interferes with your school work/grades.
