can anyone cure hiccups? by LunarRainn2003-07-11 02:09:56
I'd love to help by listicath 2003-07-11 03:23:32
because I know how painful prolonged hicoughing can be. But nothing seems to work for me.

I just try to relax (I know, not easy) and breathe slowly, regularly and both inhale and exhale deeply.

Eventually they go, but for a couple of days can return without warning.

I think the longest they've lasted so far is about 50 hours. And no, they didn't stop while I slept, I just didn't sleep an awful lot.

A colleague complaining that they were really irritating him didn't help either. He didn't take me up on my offer to hit him in the chest with a brick, each time I hiccoughed, so that he could share the full experience.
