a) German is definitely _NOT_ - I repeat _NOT_ - beautiful. It's more a bureaucratical language. Some of the German idioms (e.g. Schwäbisch) and languages related to German (like Low German) are beautiful. b) Yes, you have a lot of options in the German language, e.g. composite a new word from several others (works like LEGO) or change the order of the words, so that you can emphasize other parts of the sentence: "Den Esel bekam Tom" ("Tom got the donkey") c) The "German" in American movies and games is always pronounced the way the Americans think the Nazis spoke. You have the same problem with the Russians and the communists. Those are leftovers from WW I, WW II and the Cold War. I always wondered why the Americans didn't arrest the people with such "typical" idioms. d) Mark Twain wrote a story about the German language. You should read it.
