Question of the Day! by kickstart2006-11-19 12:26:49
So! One of the easy ones! by Sleepy_Head2003-07-11 00:37:44

Refusing to believe in a god who allows things to happen? Okay.

Following the law of the land (whichever land you're in). I wonder if that's true. What if, say, 'stuff' happened and (going to the extreme) a reinvented form of Nazi-style government was placed in your country. And then that government expressly allowed, even encouraged, the persecution of others. And the targeted group happened to be one that you were a part of.

If you live in one of the 'Western' nations, the laws that you live under have moral/religious principles at their core. They may not be stated as such, but they mesh with the rules laid down in the book you were raised with.

As for believing in yourself alone, that's fine :-)
