Question of the Day! by kickstart2006-11-19 12:26:49
born without one by niwikki 2003-07-11 00:59:25
raised without one

seriously looked into the religion of my extended family and recent ancestors, and while I found it a very interesting anthropological study and a wonderful social atmosphere, they didn't really appreciate me hanging around so much if I wasn't going to actually buy in to the theology and participate in that manner.

then I seriously looked in to a religion that seems to be really big with former members of my extended family's religion (as well as other strictly formalized & male-centric religions), and really tried to get into it... but just couldn't trick myself into believing it (and I tried so hard!).

So I've done no converting to anything or away from anything, and yet I still have no religion or spirituality. I'm not athiest (I have no strong belief that there is no god), I'm not agnostic (I haven't done a lot of study to bring me to the conclusion that we're not supposed to know whether there is a god), and I'm not theist... generally when people ask I say I'm apathetic.

However, I do love studying religions from an anthropological perspective... especially the study of ritual. Had I taken an anthropology class before my senior year of college, I probably would have at LEAST minored in anthropology...

but anyway... :)
