Question of the Day! by kickstart2006-11-19 12:26:49

Was raised pentacostal. Was really into it. Knew my Bible inside and out. Was a greeter and usher. Taught classes for younger kids. My pastors put me in positions of leadership and took me under their wings.

Yeah, I know I've always made it sound like I knew very little about Christianity and it's teachings. If leaving that knowledge out of this personality constitutes lying, so be it.

Anyways, I dropped Christianity for a whole bunch of reasons. I hate hypocrisy, and I saw too much of it. I hate ignorance and I saw too much of that. I can't stand people who are far less intelligent than I, and they existed in great numbers in the Church. Hate being lectured, and that is the whole point of a sermon. I hate innacuracies and a translated Bible has to be full of them. But most important of of all, I am (to my knowledge) incapable of feeling love, and thus can't possibly relate to a religion which claims to be based on love.

Perhaps if I knew the Love of God, those other factors wouldn't matter, but I don't so they do. Yet I have never been able to shake the sense that there is some almighty purposeful power does exist, so I have become a deist.
