Tea Types by Nickface2003-06-06 07:44:02

Also referred to as "bush" tea and "stokkies" tea - and I'm sure I've spelt that second one wrong, as I don't speak enough Africaans. Means "sticks" - "stick tea" because it is exactly that - not made from leaves.

It has no caffeine, so is a good choice if you don't want to over-do the caffeine thing. For all that I adore coffee and caffeine, my body doesn't react well to drinking a lot of it, so when I'm doing an all-nighter I'll alternate with bush tea, as the simple act of drinking a hot drink helps me stay awake.

But it's very soothing, and has a pleasant if unusual flavour. I've seen it drunk with milk and sugar normally, but also just plain or with honey.
