But I'm not worried about the big dogs. The owner was either dumb, lazy, or gets a rush from scaring people. I'm more scared of the people than the dogs. Obviously I wouldn't advise anybody to pet strange dogs, especially growling/snarling ones, but I personally get along with them. If it's someone I know and I'm visiting, a good sharp slap on the head (to the dog, not the stupid owner) and a bellowed "NO!" usually works for me.
