was Doom, Dark Forces, and R.O.T.T.
But it was the fall of 95 and spring of 96. I was at college. There were 6 main computer labs on campus: but the only "good" one was the Pentium lab. A bunch of us would get together there in the evenings and play games over the network. It had to be in the evenings b/c technically we weren't allowed to install software on these machines and we especially weren't allowed to play games. (It was a conservative christian school, that tried to force it's conservative christian beliefs on a student body that came from a large variety of christian backgrounds, basically if it was fun, easy, or in any way the slightest bit enjoyable they were totally against it).
Anyway some of us (myself included) even got caught once or twice and all that would happen was that we had to sign some paper saying that we realize we broke the rules and we would never ever do it again, but that didn't stop us. Every chance we got we'd be in there gaming away. It was great.
That was my first introduction to what are now classics. |
