So when you lose you now attack me? :) by subbywan 2003-06-06 17:31:48
For shame...

Actually, yes, I *DO* know about dolphins, having wanted to go into Marine biology and doing more than a little research on them.

And the reason I know that apes are PROUD is because the EXPERTS use that terminology, in the same way humans do.

As for the moose example, the predators learn their prey. They know that certain signs are weakness and they target those. Most of the ape predator base do NOT go out and randomly chase. They lie idly for hours at a time, evaluating which prey will be the easiest to take down. Over years of experience, they LEARN what signs equate to weakness. Whether yellow teeth in particular is one, I don't know, but I *do* know that broken teeth are a sign they look for.

There is more fighting in the wild that just hunt/eat. Most mammals have fight as part of their development, with the loser always taking a very submissive role on losing. It goes and quietly sits and does NOT make a fuss.

Unlike humans who *usually* make a fuss after being beaten.

If humans acted when they were evolving like we do now, kicking up a stink because we lose (Your example in this thread a prime point), the winner, being more base, would likely have seen the victim as not yet beaten and gone back to beat him against. Until the loser admits submission and does NOT make a fuss, the cycle of beating continues. If the loser doesn't give up, they get killed.

Very simple Darwinism.
