UFIE POST OF THE WEEK CONTEST by PostoftheWeek 2006-11-19 12:55:59

A new contest has been started, to find "Best of the Ufies" messages
from all over UserFriendly Land.

              UFIE POSTS OF THE WEEK
              * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

We are in search of "Best of the Ufies" messages
from all over UserFriendly Land.

1) Each Friday a contest thread will be created where Ufies can list nominations. 2) Ufies can 'nominate' messages for "POST of the WEEK"
by adding to the PostoftheWeek thread.
3) Entries must include a link to the post, and a paragraph saying why they like it.

That way we can click to read the posting and each person
nominating writes a little praise/critique. 4) There are four seperate divisions in the contest:
    A) Public Posting of the week (from the main board)
    B) Diary Posting of the week (good stuff there too)
    C) Open division- any post, any time, any where you like
    D) This week in History (UFie postings, same week, 1998 to 2002) 5) Users cannot nominate their own posts
6) Deadline for submissions Sunday evening 4:pm board time (Midnight GMT),
so most UFies don't stay up ALL night.  (some will anyway)
That way, we can browse through the postings and have a decision sooner.
7) Judging:  Fairly open, subjective- according to what we read,
    but a few thoughts include:
bonus points for group posts in a theme
(yes, you may submit a group of related posts together)
creativity always a plus (your descriptive paragraphs DO count, in the judging)
significant events in life of Ufies (ie: births, marriages, jobs, adventures)
interesting and longer thread discussions are good
we encourage digging for past posts, not just in recent days
relevance to the cartoon, or current topics is also good.

8) To keep from monopolizing things, winners can't be from the same
author two weeks in a row.

Last weeks winners may be found HERE.

Tutorial: For anyone who is not familiar with how to make an HTML link, in the
UserFriendly comments/ars web postings, the format is:
<A href="http://the.web.address/you/want?linked">underlined link text</A>
For further details, you may see Naruki's tutorial, or look here.

!! HAVE FUN, AND LET THE CONTEST BEGIN !!
