It doesn't matter if it's right or wrong, as long as it's good for ratings. Look at Howard Stern. His audience base has about 2x more people who DON'T like him than who DO like him. either way, he doesn't care because his numbers are up and he's "popular". We as a audience have been desensitized to car crashes. We are not desensitized to war casualties. If they showed us war footage, in 6 months, it would just be another car crash.
