What I'm talking about is a use of the word that denotes taking action or spelling out rules that are intended to benefit the recipient(s) regardless of the desires of said recipient(s). You can google for "paternalism definition" to find that the word can be used in the manner I am using it. Sorry for any confusion my choice may have cuased, but any other descriptors taht canme to mind resulted in something far too wordy.
