          What I did by NotAGeek 2003-06-06 11:12:33
I save data to an 10 gig external laptop hard drive. I was backing up data to another external hard drive when I ran out of space. To make room for the new data, I uninstalled several programs from my computer.

Feeling I had enough free space on my hard drive, I went back to moving files between computers. This is when the problem began. The 10 gig external laptop hard drive would not let me access data anymore.

I ran PartitionMagic and got a message which said something about programs not closed. I have no idea how to close the programs. I was told to re-boot. I did. Problem remains.

I reformatted the hard drive. Problem remains. I searhed for solutions on the internet. Best I can come up with is this is a 999 Error performing inpage operation. ERROR_SWAPERROR problem.

All greek to me.
