| Different people mature at different rates. In nearly all the anecdotal experience I have been able to gather (I'd like to do a formal study, but I doubt I'll get to), women tend to not like nice guys when said women are less mentally mature. As they attain greater mental maturity they figure out that jerks don't offer anything a good nice guy can't aside from problems and neglect.
The facial expressions when the moment of epiphany strikes (i.e. just how many "nice guy relationships" they've avoided or flubbed) is incredible. I shouldn't take so much pleasure in it, but having been told that I am too nice for my own good all the way through high school, I find it hard not to. |
