The upside of having three kids more than makes up for it....
even with lotsa work, it's well worth it... even when I bitch about it.
Tis true I won't go out and party tonight (and I do miss that), and I WILL do many of the things mentioned above...
But I will also see the spark in eyes of three young faces, feel the warmth of their love, have the little urchins race down the stairs so they can try to be the first one that gives daddy a hug when he gets home (unless they "hide" in the house and made me go looking), hear about Kate's 2nd day at Summer Academy (going into 3rd grade, reading at the level of 7th graders), Listen to Ryan talk about the lizards he chased/caught on the hill behind our house and let little Anna tell me (with a HUGE smile on her face) that she went to the bathroom all by herself!!! (she's 2 - you take the victories where you can, and it's true she'll probably also have to tell me that her "budder Wyan" hitted her)
It is by far the MOST challenging AND rewarding thing I have ever done. However, it does tend to limit ones "free" time -- you don't have any. |
