What *is* the right thing to do?
Honestly, no one knows.
The only *right* thing is to never get into the situation to start with.
However, that point is moot, so now it's a case of "what can we do to lessen the bad things that are going to happen".
I think they have a good plan for now. It's going to take a lot of time, and it may not work, but it's one of the better ideas they've had on the crises.
There are going to be setbacks. Israel will screw up, as will Palestine before it is over, but if they stick with it, they'll come through on the other end, probably not with everything they WANT, but with the things they NEED and some of their wants.
