I don't have a "magic formula" or anything, but I somehow manage to be both helpful and still allow my wife her space. The really important part, I think, is showing that you care for her as much as she cares for you. "Cherish" her would probably be a better term.

And, speaking as one very well taken care of by his wife, I'll admit that I love being spoiled. <BSEG>

But I can still step in and do the housework, cook the meals, etc., if she's feeling poorly or needs a break.

I won't mow the lawn, tho... ;-)>
