Quite a few of us(human females) have been "trained."
We are taught that we have to be the ones to care for our male.
Being quite so helpful can be interpreted as criticism of her ability to cope with those tasks that she is supposed to be doing. In effect you are hurting her female pride and she feels threatened by it.
You see, in a way we can be quite as territorial as any male, the delimitation is just different .
By helping out, without being asked, you are infringing on her personal space.
A bit like the way most men are leery of dating a woman who is taller and more muscular than they are.
This may not help you with this particular person, but should be something to keep in mind. |
