that used to have a saying. "once you get packed, you never go back". we always laughed at that one. Yes, despite my hard core infantry background I have absolutly nothing against gays and lesbians. They made a choice in lifestyle, it might not be my choice, but it is a choice. And taking pride in who you are is more important than who you want to have sex with.
