All it proves is that Sharon (after behaving like an animal for the past few years) has finally decided to extend an (admittedly extensive) olive branch and the new Palestinian leader has decided that it isn't enough. Although the behaviour of their leaders reflect on the peoples as a whole, I don't believe it ever describes the situation accurately at the social level. I am of the mind that the Israel-Palestine question is the fault of multiple parties.
