That is the best reason for the creation of these laws. It's OK to be down, but you are not out. And do not be afraid of the paper-work. The declaration of bankrupcy should speak for itself as far as residual creditors. They probably are aware of the probability of this happening anyways. A fresh start will be good. After the paperwork is filed, go to a nice park and just relax for a bit (sea-shore is good, but anywhere with water sounds should help). When you get up to leave, the past should stay there. DONE.
