I don't think doctors should be packing on the job.
If they want to keep some plain-clothes security around with THEM carrying concealed, I'm all for that. I think the medical staff, at all levels, should be unarmed.
Besides, this is a hospital. There are enough other things around, scaples, BIG needles, scissors that would be as effective as a firearm, but not as deadly.
People getting stabbed and acting like nothing happened is a Hollywood thing. If you're stabbed, you don't just brush it off, unless you're completely out of your gourd on something, in which case even a gun, unless it was a killshot to the head would stop.
Plus, a scissors or scalpel is probably going to be FAR less lethel if it misses your target and hits a by-stander. Also, needles and scissors won't go through a wall the way a bullet would.
