All of your alternatives to lying do nothing but hurt that person's feelings with no gain. I mean, if they are asking about their hairstyle, then they already know that it sucks, and are looking for reassurance, not insults. I don't see how telling them it looks like $#!t is ethical, or at least the most ethical choice. However, that is according to my personal ethics, and they are apparently not the same as yours.
