Darn, I missed this subthread when it was happening.

LurkerMo, you say "any ingestion of a drug to alter who you are is deceptive, and therefore dishonest," and then use the example of a schizophrenic who is taking a medication that completely masks his symptoms. I was truly shocked that you thought this was unethical. Why should he have to tell everyone he's schizophrenic? It was going off his meds that was the unethical decision, not his decision to keep his medical problems private.

What about mood disorders? If someone takes a mood stabilizing medication, and everybody goes around assuming the person is "normal", why is that person being dishonest? Coming into contact with people doesn't give them the right to know your natural unmedicated state.
