raising here. One is using drugs to compensate for illness or disease. In this case, the lesser harm of the drug is outweighed by the greater harm that the disease is causing. But think of the case where an antidepressant is used instead of seeking out and curing an emotional trauma that is causing the depression. I realize that we don't always have great understanding and perception. And I am talking general principles here, where lack of understanding is not to blame for bad decisions. A lack of understanding can ALWAYS cause harmful decisions. As far as your claim that drugs can enhance who you are - is that not an alteration? You are correct in that the particular way that a drug alters one can reveal much. And I think that a drug used for this purpose is a good thing. Oh, and one last thing. If marijuana doesn't alter who you are then why bother taking it?
