Because it comes down to the same as other ethical choices. It is mostly a matter of perspective and knowledge/insight.

Two notable circumstances:

It is acceptable to discipline a child (or an adult who behaves in a childish way) in order to teach social values and morals. The long-term benefit outweighs the short-term discomfort.

It is acceptable to restrain a person who behaves unethically. This restraint is to prevent harm to others. Again, the lesser harm is outweighed by the greater harm that is prevented.
