is to suppose that the harm is coming to someone who is himself causing harm. This would include cases where a cop has to shoot a gunman who has either shot a bunch of people or who has hostages. I personally would have no problem capping some jerk in that situation. If his will is to cause harm, you are causing greater harm by not stopping him.
